Member News: Direct Energy ‘Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award 2009’

The Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association is very excited to be partnering with Direct Energy for the 5th consecutive year in honouring an individual or individuals in the AWNA coverage area who have made a significant contribution, as a volunteer, to the community in which they live.

Your role as a community publisher and the role of your staff is very important to rolling out this exciting program.

A package was mailed in the weekly AWNA envelope last week.  Please take some time in reading over the Rules and Regulations.  Nomination forms are available on Direct Energy’s web site at: http://www.directenergy.com/vcoy

You can also download them from the AWNA ftp site “Press Release” folder, as well.

Please have the nomination forms handy at your front desk.  Feel free to distribute them to your local organizations.

Please instruct your designated staff member to mail any entries to the AWNA office at the end of each week to facilitate a quick administrative turnaround for the Direct Energy Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award committee.
