At the surprise luncheon, Chrissie serves carrot cake with the help of Gail Korpan.

Chrissie Hamblin celebrated her fifth anniversary as AWNA Comptroller on March 15th.   Staff surprised her by bringing in lunch and her favorite carrot cake, taking time out from their busy schedules to reminisce about past experiences together.

During her tenure, Chrissie has helped implement a new advertising and accounting system and improved financial controls to the extent that the association has enjoyed two consecutive clean year-end audits.   This was accomplished during a period when the association’s financial year-end was changed from June 30th to December 31st.  In addition, a subsidiary corporation – AdWest – was formed under Chrissie’s watch, and she handles the accounting duties for it as well.   A clean audit of AdWest’s books was also recently completed.

Chrissie has completed two modules of the association management course offered through the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE).
