Member News: APC announces appointment of Dr. Joan Scott as Acting Chair
The Alberta Press Council announces the appointment Dr. Joan Scott as Acting Chair, effective March 1st, 2011.
Dr. Scott joined the Alberta Press Council in September 2007 as a representative for the Red Deer Advocate readership area. Joan worked in British Columbia for a number of years before moving to Alberta in 1983. She has over 40 years of experience in high school and college settings as a teacher, counsellor and administrator. A chartered psychologist, she returned to university to focus on policy development and completed her PhD in 1998. Prior to retiring in 2010, Joan taught policy studies courses in the Bachelor of Education Program at Red Deer College. A long-time community volunteer, Joan is actively involved in the health, sport, and education spheres in Red Deer.
