Michael Anderson, CEO of the Canadian Society of Association Executives, presents AWNA Controller Chrissie Hamblin with her CAE (Certified Association Executive) pin at the annual CSAE conference in Ottawa on November 3rd.

Some AWNA members may remember Michael as the former Executive Director of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association.

The CAE program is built on 44 competencies that describe the skills essential for efficient and effective not-for-profit management.  It consists of five online courses and an online certification exam. The course list includes, leadership, change, strategy and structure, membership services, operations (I and II) and developments in association management.

The CAE program is the only comprehensive not-for-profit education program in Canada that leads to a professional designation. It has been offered since 1972 by CSAE (the Canadian Society of Association Executives).
