Member newspapers selected for Summer Interns

The names have been drawn and the lottery winners for the six host newspaper’s for the 2018 internship program are:

• Airdrie City View/Rocky View Weekly
• Canmore/Banff Rocky Mountain Outlook
• Grande Prairie Town & Country News
• High Prairie South Peace News
• Lloydminster Source
• Okotoks Western Wheel

We received 14 applications to draw from this year, which is up from the 6 we received last year.
The funding payments were sent out to the 2017 newspapers on October 6th ($3500.00 each), as all three fulfilled their requirements over the internship period.
We’re looking forward to another successful program run in 2018 and hope we gather even more steam to push us into the following year. As always, we’re open to any and all suggestions on how we can enhance and grow the program to meet its full potential.
