AWNA board appoints Craig Barnard as director

The AWNA board appointed Postmedia executive Craig Barnard as a director at its meeting on November 26th.
Craig started his newspaper career in 1978 as the Circulation Manager of the Chatham Daily News and has held senior circulation management positions at eight newspapers in four provinces across Canada. He has held senior circulation management positions at a corporate level for Thomson Newspapers, Southam Newspapers, CanWest Publishing and Postmedia Network. At Postmedia Craig provides the overall leadership, management and strategic vision for Print Operations for its 150 major metropolitan, community daily and weekly newspapers including the Flyer Force business operations across Canada. He is also responsible for all real estate and lease management nationally for the company.
Craig was one of the original team members that helped develop and launch the National Post in October 1998. He served as interim publisher for the Edmonton Journal during 2008 and 2009 and played an integral role in the integration of Sun Media with Postmedia in 2015.
Craig is a director and serves on the Executive Committee of the Canadian News Media Association, also serving as its Treasurer. He is also a director of the Alliance of Audited Media (AAM), formerly the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
