Hello! We would like you to invite you to our General Excellence Online Awards Presentation.The awards were to have been presented at the AGM, but with everything gone catawampus these days, we had to think of something different, so we’re going online!

Very Special Guest Speaker:
Paul MacNeill, Publisher Island Press Limited
Past president of Newspapers Canada, Paul was to have attended our AGM, made a presentation and swear in the incoming board, so we thought he was the perfect person to launch our ceremony with a few words.
Please sign in a few minutes ahead of time so we can get things moving quickly and efficiently.
1) The link above uses the platform “Microsoft Teams”. You’ll be prompted to select one of those methods when you click the link to join the meeting. You may join online through your browser, or you may download the Teams meeting software. We’ve tested both 🙂 (Mac users… don’t use Safari, it is not supported. Either use Chrome or download the Teams app beforehand)
2) When you log in you’ll have a field to type in your name. Please include your newspaper name too, so other participants will know where you are from.
3) When the meeting begins you’ll have a tool bar near the bottom of the window. From there you can turn on/off your camera and microphone. Please mute your microphone if you are not speaking, it helps avoid background noise.
4) In that same tool bar, locate the Chat button. Feel free to chat during the presentation – offer your congratulations – send GIFs and emojis. Have fun! 🙂

Bio
Paul MacNeill is a second generation publisher from Montague, Prince Edward Island. He has won more than 50 regional, national and international awards for reporting and opinion writing, including CCNA Outstanding Reporter Initiative and Best News Story and two time winner of Outstanding Columnist. He is a past president of Newspapers Canada and current board member of the Michener Foundation which oversees the annual Governor General’s Award for Public Service Journalism. He is the leading CBC political analyst for both radio and television on Prince Edward Island
