It has been a little over a month since AWNA suffered the ransomware attack and we’re slowly getting back to normal, well, a new normal. Our advertising booking system was restored and is almost back to full functionality, with the majority of the data gaps having been re-input. As of this week we are able to:

  • Send out insertion orders via our booking system, so you will no longer be receiving the manual booking email from Allana moving forward.(Please make sure that you are replying back to your booking email(s) as confirmation of booking.)
  • The first batch of EFTs will be sent out on Friday, August 2

AWSOM Web Interface

Unfortunately we will not be rebuilding the AWSOM web interface (www.awsom.ca)  that was used for Insertion Orders and Material management, access to reports, access and searching of newspaper archive, etc. We are disappointed to lose this fantastic tool that was used by office staff and by our newspapers, but it’s just not fiscally feasible to rebuild at this time.

Since we will no longer have the AWSOM web interface we are returning to our original FTP site (ftp.awna.com)  for access and retrieval of the following items:

  • Display Material – We will be shifting away from direct emailing and will have the display material uploaded to your newspaper FTP folders, which will be located in a Week Of folder
  • EFT Remittances
  • DNR orders

Newspapers have access to their ftp folder via ftp.awna.com, using their unique login.  Please find a moment to try to log  in with your username (your paper code) and password.  If you are having problems, please contact us and we will let you know your paper code and reset the password for you.

Blankets and Value Ads

Blanket Classifieds and Value Ads can be accessed via KUTD at the following URL: https://kutd.awna.com/blanket-ads-value-ads/ . Updated content will be uploaded each week Thursdays by Noon. (Wednesdays before long weekends)

AWSOM Uploads

All members are currently uploading via FTP  (ftp.awsom.ca)  and we thank you for making that part of your routine so quickly.

While the Archive has no web interface, no easy searchability,  it is still maintained, and remains an offsite backup for your pages.  It is our source for eTearsheets which allows us to bill agencies and clients promptly.  For those members on the contract, we still forward the PDFs to the Clipping Services.  They are pretty quick to email us when pages are late, so thank you again for prompt uploads!

Every day we get a little bit closer to business as usual; it’s going to be a continual process ironing out all the tweaks, but we truly thank our members for your patience and understanding during this time.
