By now we hope you’ve all had a chance to look at picking up your display ad material via FTP   (ftp. awna.com).  For those of you with us from long ago, before AWSOM, you may remember this as “The Matrix”.   Any trouble logging in or remembering your username/password – please let us know soonest and we’ll get you fixed up  (allana@awna.com or jamcrae@awna.com)

Accessing the Display Ad material FTP folders is possible through a browser, but it is best done with dedicated FTP software.  (ie. Fetch, Filezilla, Cyberduck, or others).  You’ll find FTP software more manageable – less restrictive than browser software.

Picking up material for more than one newspaper?

For Members with more than one newspaper to pick up material for, you *may* want us to set up a Group User web page. It goes against the suggestion I just made above, as you’ll use your browser to see a list of all your individual display ad folders,  but if you have several folders to visit, and you really don’t like FTP software, it can be worth it. Let us know and we can set that up for you.

Group User Page not behaving?

If we have already sent you a  Group User page, you may have discovered that Chrome (in particular) caches usernames & passwords, and can sometimes get pretty ‘sticky’, not letting you let go of one user account so you can log into the next. If you really like Chrome, the trick there is to open your FTP folders in an incognito window.   File -> New Incognito Window . That feature limits what Chrome tries to remember, making it easier to hop from one user account to the next.

Here’s my method that I used when testing the Group User pages:

  1. Open the KUTD group user page in Chrome. (you’ll have the URL and password in the info we send you)
  2. Right Click on the paper name to open the particular FTP folder you want to access. In the flyout menu that appears choose ‘ open in new incognito window’
  3. After you’ve grabbed your material, close that Incognito window, return to the Group User Page, and right click to access your next individual user folder.
