Baby name dynasties continue in Alberta for 2025

For the seventh year in a row, Noah has clinched the top baby boy name, while Olivia for the thirteenth straight year emerged the top baby girl name in Alberta.
With the release of Alberta’s 2025 list of baby names, Olivia and Noah have proven to have a dynasty among parents. Olivia has held the top spot for 13 consecutive years. The next longest reigning name was Ethan, at nine consecutive years between 2001 and 2009, followed by Liam, with seven years from 2010 to 2016. 2025 marks Noah’s seventh year in a row in the top spot for boys.
Amelia, Emma, Sophia (tied), Charlotte, and Violet were among the top five most popular names for baby girls, while Theodore, Oliver, Henry, Jack and Lucas (tied) rounded out the top five choices for baby boys.
