Last week was our first full week of the new in-house server for running the archive. Apart from a short, surprise outtage on Wednesday afternoon, the service has been running steadily.

Notifications
We expect to be turning on the Notification module within a day or two. The email address you have provided to us will begin to receive any error reports as they happen, and the end of day upload summary that you can use to confirm that your newspaper has been successfully uploaded.
As with the previous AWSOM, to maintain the integrity of the archive, users are not permitted to upload replacement pages. With this system, however, you will receive an immediate email that the page already exists in the archive. If you are replacing something that was uploaded in error, please contact us via the AWSOM email address so we can push those files through for you.

Subscriptions
For the most part, the 250+ eSubscribers out there had no difficulties with the new system. Five or six accounts had log-in problems and another small handful had browser issues – mainly caused by Firefox 4.0 not having a built-in PDF display. We’ve gotten some good feedback from the users and have already put into production improvements to the system that will benefit subscribers and members alike.
