We have a good news story to convey to advertisers that may mistakenly believe community newspapers are losing ground against other media.

Advertising expenditures in community weeklies are healthy and growing, according to the annual revenue study conducted by Newspapers Canada. In 2011 more than $1.2 billion was spent on print and online advertising, a 3% increase over the previous year.

Newspapers Canada is set to begin work on the 2012 annual revenue study. Members can expect to see an email requesting their participation within the next month.

Newspaper participation is critical to the success of this important industry initiative, so please take a few moments to complete and return this brief survey. Results are confidential and will only be seen by a third party that is compiling the data
