Firefighters Awareness Week

Answer the Call
The Alberta Fire Chiefs Association (AFCA) has launched an annual ‘Firefighters Awareness Week’ to address the growing challenge of recruiting/retaining volunteer firefighters.

It’s timed to coincide with ‘International Firefighters Day’ (May 4th), so this year ‘Answer the Call’ will take place during the week of May 3rd – 9th.

Volunteer fire departments are organizing events throughout the province, so it might be a good idea to check in to see what’s going on in your community.

Trans Canada Pipelines has been brought on as a sponsor, so if you have a Trans Canada branch in your community, you might consider asking them to sponsor a page commemorating the event.
