Trevor “Bud” Slapak has passed away

Trevor Bud Slapak

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Pass Herald Patriarch and Editor Trevor “Bud” Slapak. He was editor and owner of the Pass Herald for 65 years. Bud was proud of being a Canadian, his Czechoslovakian heritage and the Crowsnest Pass. There was very little that went on in the Pass that Buddy wasn’t privy to and interested in. He stood for hard work starting out at 16 years old delivering groceries for F.M. Thompson and continued that hard work ethic until the day he passed. He loved to share his stories of the Crowsnest Pass and its people and his heritage to anyone who would listen and he had lots of stories to tell. Buddy will be so missed by the Pass Herald and all of the people whose lives he touched.
