Strategic direction-setting session Friday, June 1 at AGM
The Agenda posted online has been updated to reflect the scheduled direction-setting session taking place at the annual convention on Friday, June 1st, starting at 9:30 and concluding at 3 p.m.
Please take steps to attend this session. It’s critically important to your business and the association.
Faced with an unprecedented challenge to its business model over the past 12 months, the AWNA faces some tough decisions.
The board does not wish to make these decisions in a vacuum, so now more than ever; it needs to engage members in a frank discussion about the association’s future.
At the session’s conclusion there will be:
- An understanding of the current situation in AWNA and across Canada;
- A direction that can be given to the new Board and Executive Director for the future.
Several business scenarios will be advanced and discussed, and everyone will have a chance to vote anonymously for the scenario they favour.
There will be a break for lunch at 11:45, which will feature a panel discussion about the national association. News Media Canada Vice-Chair Abbas Homayed and CEO John Hinds will be on hand, along with provincial association delegates. Duff Jamison will moderate the panel.
