Council of the Town of Gibbons Takes Swift Action to Advance Financial Review and Transparency Commitments

Gibbons, November 12, 2025 – The Council of the Town of Gibbons is moving quickly to deliver on its promise of transparency and accountability. Following the initial announcement of a financial review earlier this month, Council has now directed Administration to begin immediate action to assess the Town’s financial health and report back with concrete findings and next steps.

“This marks the next phase of our commitment to residents,” said Rick Henderson, Mayor of Gibbons. “Council has listened to the concerns raised by the community, and we are acting decisively. The financial health assessment and review work have officially begun, and we will ensure that this process is conducted with

professionalism, urgency, and transparency.”

The directive provided by Council includes:

• A financial health assessment to confirm the Town’s current financial position and underlying challenges;
• A high-level review of key transactions to ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance;
• A report on the Town’s financial status and the development of a plan to stabilize and strengthen finances

going forward.

This work will take place over the coming weeks, with updates to be shared publicly as progress is made. The Town will continue to communicate key milestones through its website and official channels to ensure that residents remain informed throughout the process.

“While some matters—particularly those involving legal, development, or labour considerations—must remain

confidential, our intent is to communicate openly and consistently,” added Mayor Henderson. “Residents deserve to know that Council is taking real action and doing so responsibly.”

This second release marks a clear transition from planning to implementation. Council’s direction ensures that concerns raised by residents are being addressed through evidence-based analysis and professional oversight. The Town of Gibbons remains committed to a transparent and accountable process that builds public confidence and positions the municipality for long-term financial sustainability.
