Eight outstanding Albertans honoured at the 2025 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards.
Alberta’s most dedicated volunteers took centre stage tonight as Alberta’s government paid tribute to these remarkable individuals at the 2025 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards.
“We are proud to celebrate this year’s recipients, who have devoted countless hours to making a lasting impact across our province. As we mark the 25th anniversary of the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards, we honour those who break barriers, serve others and bring hope where it is needed most.”

Recipients were recognized at a formal ceremony officiated by Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, and Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women, Tanya Fir.
Awards were presented in the following categories:
- Youth, Adult, and Senior – recognizing volunteers who demonstrate leadership within their age group.
- Breaking Barriers – honouring those who are addressing racism and fighting gender discrimination.

- Since its inception in 2000, the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards program has honoured 171 exceptional Albertan volunteers.
- Alberta has nearly 28,000 non-profit organizations. About 57 percent of those are completely volunteer-run organizations.
- Each year, Albertans provide 227 million volunteer hours, supporting vibrant communities and the provincial economy.
