Julie Schau award presented to Lloydminster manager

Deanna Wandler was awarded the Julie Schau Memorial award at the SWNA awards banquet held April 6th in Regina.  Deanna is the sales manager and partner in the Lloydminster Meridian Source,  an AWNA member paper as well as SWNA, serving the border city and surrounding areas in both our provinces.

In the presentation, Executive Director Steve Nixon described “With her steadfast energy she strives to make every edition a unique and quality paper. Deanna has devoted her life to the industry and through this has integrated herself into her community”

Julie Schau was an employee of the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association for over 15 years.  She passed away on November 26th, 2012 at the age of 46. In 2013 the SWNA created the award in Julie’s memory to bring attention to and put the spotlight on people like her in our industry – people who strive every day to help keep this industry strong and thriving.
