Member Space donation

Last June, members met in Edmonton to help plan for the AWNA’s future and discuss obstacles currently being faced. The AWNA is primarily funded through the blanket classified and value ad programs, thanks to the generosity of members, who provide the space for these ads. Unfortunately, sales has seen a 76% decline in funding from this space over the past ten years.
One of the decisions by the board is to ask members to donate two ‘one-quarter’-page ads over the course of the next 12 months, as a way to offset at least some of the losses from declining blanket classifieds, and allow the association to continue to provide services to its members.
This member donation will only be applied on those insertions reflecting the retail rate and only be collected on lineage space, not colour etc.. These donations will be tracked by central office staff, similar to the Combase programs in the past; order comments indicating the lineage contributed and remaining for the two six-month periods (Jan-Jun, Jul-Dec) will be provided.
You will see on your insertion orders when this has been applied.
If, on a given order, the full lineage will be contributed to the space donation, the commission will be reflected as 100%; if there is only partial lineage on the order being contributed, OR there is colour on the order, the paper will be paid for the remaining lines or colour charge.
