Kelly Levson, General Manager, Director of Research, ComBase will be making a presentation on ComBase to convention delegates on Friday, May 6 from 9-9:30 am.  Since she is scheduled for only half an hour, she will begin at 9 prompt in the John Walter Room, Varscona Hotel on Whyte, Edmonton.

Community Newspapers Need Readership Research. These days all major media require metrics to justify advertising dollars at the national level.  Government advertising plans are all based on research and media measurement metrics.  Since 2000 the community newspaper industry solution has been ComBase, and there have been many challenges for all involved.  Publishers faced funding concerns, research suppliers experienced steep learning curves along with delays and agencies struggled to understand numerous markets and complex geography.  On April 15, 2011 CCNA and ComBase secured funding from the government (from Canadian Heritage and Industry Canada) to fund the next national readership study for the community newspaper industry.  ComBase General Manager Kelly Levson will present the details of this government funded readership study and highlight optional opportunities that may also be available to publishers locally.
